Are there times when you just feel like getting away from it all? You feel like you need a change of scenery to refresh your attitude?
You’re not alone. AAA reported that in 2015, approximately 37million Americans traveled on Memorial Day Weekend.
Well, maybe its a long drive into the countryside or maybe its flying to a “perfect” spot of relaxation or adventure. Whether it’s a short or long trip, a vacation invigorates the soul and gives you a different perspective on life.
There were times when I returned from a hectic trip and wished I had more vacation time in which to relax and regroup. Other times, I didn’t want to leave the vacation spot and even explored the option of real estate there; even though I am wise enough to know that visiting a particular city while on vacation is a totally different case than actually living there.

Regardless of the type of vacation, getting-away is an eye-opening educational, refreshing experience.

Truthfully, I wasn’t exactly excited about the idea of visiting the Grand Canyon. Believe it or not. I asked myself, ” what could be so interesting about a large hole in the earth’s surface?” I was so wrong. After a drive north from Phoenix, through Sedona to the park’s gate, we approached the south rim.
Oh, before I forget, if you’ve got some extra time, don’t miss the Grand Canyon Deer Farm near Williams, AZ. It’s awesomely fun.

So, nothing could have prepared me for seeing the canyon for the first time. I was overwhelmed with awe, its beauty, the color changes, it’s vastness, and its history. I didn’t expect the spiritual awakening that I felt while being in the power of nature and which calls me back from time to time.
Another one of my favorites places to visit is Bermuda, for so many reasons…the beauty, the non-commercialized serenity, the British tea time, the dark rum fish chowder, the evening sounds of tree frogs, and the magical moongates.
One of Bermuda’s many MoongatesThat’s right, moongates. No, they aren’t stargates that transport you through space. They are circular stone arches or gates, originally brought to Bermuda from China in the late 19th century by a returning sea-captain. The moongate is an oriental symbol of peace and happiness and is a familiar in many of Bermuda’s gardens. Legend has it that honeymooners who walk through the gate will have eternal happiness and good luck.

In terms of the type of accommodations on the island, I can’t say enough about the majestic pink Fairmont Princess sitting on top of the hill, nestled between the ocean and the bay. What more can I say about this outstanding hotel property with impeccable service? Our family visited the Fairmont Southampton numerous times over the years and my husband and I recently returned together to celebrate our 35th anniversary. All is the same as we’ve remembered for over 30 years… the service is excellent and the property is extremely well-maintained. We enjoyed evenings at the indoor pool and jacuzzi; not to mention the great food (especially the Bermuda rum fish chowder). I highly recommend that you visit this property.
From all the properties in the Caribbean that we have visited, we chose Bermuda Fairmont Southampton for its cleanliness, accessibility, and charming British hospitality. You will have an amazing time!!!!
